Re: stumbling around 2 Years, 7 Months ago
In the FAQ, under Anglican resources - the link to the list of all Anglican orders is dead for me, I'll keep trying links and see - that's the only one so far that's no good - the others I've clicked are live

Thanks - fixed!

stumbling around 2 Years, 7 Months ago
Hi there - just trying this thing out - there's a lot to like here!

Just off the top of my head:

I like the color scheme, feel like this is navigating pretty easily. I like how it tells me who's here on the left.

For my computer (PC) I'm getting the top banner graphics - where it says "Order of Ecumenical Franciscans and "celebrating..." super grainy, all pixelly under the text (I may prove to be a picky user - fair warning)

anyway I can come back to this thread as I notice things - if that works for you.

Re: stumbling around 2 Years, 7 Months ago
this link www.ufmcc.org/ was listed as metropolitan community churches

B) Corrected, though I don't know whether we have any MCC folks at the moment.

That graphic DOES need improvement. And picky is good.

I'm not certain how intuitive it is. And when you type all the way to the end of the line, the frame shifts and the emoticons disappear.

I'll play with the settings and see if I can cure that, and we'll see.

I'd been doing quick reply - so not seeing the smilie choices - now I'm in reply mode, so see them  they aren't getting frameshifted away - so maybe you fixed that already.

I agree with you about the inuitiveness - I feel sort of buried inside the thread and takes some getting used to to get out to the level of seeing all the "room" choices. Not sure I'm explaining that well - it's hard to feel how zoomed in I am, or where I am with regard to the rest of the forums.

Are the posts in this forum editable? I seem to always find the typos after I hit reply...

thanks for all the spiffy fixes there, dude!

Re: stumbling around 2 Years, 7 Months ago
The shifting was fixed by eliminating the "OEF Wall" and login box on the right side of the page while yo're in the forums. That gave the forum layout more room, so the emoticons don't disappear.

Editing is only possible at the administrative level. That's generally preferred, anyway. I know typos annoy some of us when we make them (I hate looking back at something I've e-mailed and seeing a misspelling or a dropped word! ). however, in ongoing discussions/debates, it's usually better if someone is not able to cover his tracks and deny having ever said something. I've seen folks use editing capability to make substantial changes to posts, rather than simply correct grammar and typos. Less likely a problem with this crowd, fortunately!

s'ok - we can get used to one another's oteherianess (some already have other folks's typos never bother me as much as my own. ) - I did still get that text box squeeze in the other thread - this one seems fixed but that one had my text box squished in - didn't extend the full width of the text I was writing.

OK more weird things:
franciscans.com/joomla15/index.php?optio...uirers&Itemid=39

(basically the Inquirer's brochure) I admit I didn't read it all but noticed that towards the bottom especially there are some places with no spaces between words - it must have loaded up weird

Re: stumbling around 2 Years, 7 Months ago
Heretics and typo-makers, as well, I'm guessing, should be cleared by someone.

Probably was a cut-and-mispaste issue in porting some content over from the old site.

My hope is that we can get the overall functionality working pretty well, then let folks work on cleaning up and filling out content in their areas of responsibility. This one will belong to Shoshanah!
