Hello!. I'm a new member - By Jason McMahon 1 Year ago
I am a candidate at Our Lady of the Angels fraternity in Milford, OH and I found this web site by the grace of God. In my studies I have come across references of non-Catholic fraternities/communities that feel the calling to follow in the footsteps of St. Francis, so now I am a part of one. This is exciting, because my identity as a Franciscan has now become much more inclusive and enriched.
What I am curious about is your involvement with St. Clare and her charism. I know of several Catholic orders that follow her rule, but I have not heard of any non-Catholic ones. You will have to enlighten me.
I have attached a reflection I composed recently regarding my role as a Franciscan in the Catholic Church. Many of you will be aware of the source I refer to; and I pray that all of you will be able to relate this to the church you attend.
Pax et bonum!

Dear Jason, Peace and Good- Welcome to the OEF website!

Although we are an ecumenical, we have many Catholics including Roman Catholics in the OEF and find ourselves hopeful builders of the kingdom of heaven on earth.

To answer your question personally, I take great support from Mother Clare of Assisi in my life and ministry. Her total giving of self in prayer and faith inspires me to strive to love the same wherever I may be found; as her love- for and through- Jesus Christ seemed to touch all she met and served.

Your reflection is beautiful and I wish you well in all future endeavors.

In Francis and Clare,
