All are welcomed here to pray; you are welcomed to post a prayer request or to offer prayer for someone. Perhaps you would like to post a copy of a favorite prayer or inspirational quote and others may respond prayerfully to that. You may feel led to lead a prayer group, a special prayer service or perhaps even a bible study? Although this Chapel is named for the Poor Pray-ers who get together Wednesday mornings, it belongs to all and all are welcomed.

Brothers and Sisters: We invite to pray for peace tonight between 7 and 8 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time)

A few suggestions:

Sit in silence for 20-30 minutes offering yourself to God by presence. To remain centered in your heart, you may, or you may not, pray a short phrase from scripture, such as "Maranatha", Aramaic for Come, Lord, or "Deus in adjutorium, meum intende", Latin for O God, come to my assistance.

Then, perhaps we can pray together:

Grant peace, O Christ, to the whole of your creation.
Lord, hear our prayer.
Grant peace, O Christ, to your Church throughout the world.
Lord, hear our prayer.
Grant peace, O Christ to the leaders of the world.
Lord, hear our prayer.
Grant, peace, O Christ, to the people of the world.
Lord, hear our prayer.
Grant peace, O Christ, to the village/town/city of...
Lord, hear our prayer.
Grant peace, O Christ, to all who are in need.
Lord, hear our prayer.
Grant peace, O Christ, to all who have died.
Lord, hear our prayer.
Grant peace, O Christ to all who have requested our prayer...
