We are delighted to have you visit our web site. Here you will find the basic
information about who we are -- enough information, I hope, to give you an accurate sense of
the spirit of our Order and purpose as followers of Christ after the examples of Francis and
Clare of Assisi.
The Order of Ecumenical Franciscans is an interfaith body of Christians who maintain a devotion to
Sts. Francis and Clare and their interpretation of the Gospel. We are a diverse group -- male and
female, married and single, clergy and laity, conservative and liberal. Our church affiliations
include free churches and mainline Protestant denominations, as well as the Anglican and Roman Catholic
communions. We are singularly committed to the gospel of liberation and justice.
We are held together by a common Rule, a structure of accountability through our formation
counselors within the Order, and a local spiritual director for each person. Ours is a community of
faith and life sharing a love for creation and those who have been marginalized by a society of greed
and despair.
