Susan Kay, an OEF postulant, and
Fred Ball, OEF, visit at the TSSF
Chapter on Long Island, NY. |
|
The Third Order,
Province of the Americas, Society of St. Francis (TSSF) held its
annual Chapter at Little Portion Friary, Mt. Sinai, New York, 8-12
October. Br. Fred Ball, OEF, represented the OEF at that meeting.
The TSSF Chapter typically begins with a quiet day -- a day of silent
mediation on a theme set forth by a facilitator. Susan made the drive
from Connecticutt in order to participate in the quiet day and to have
a visit with Fred.
TSSF is dealing with some exciting things right now, including the
reception of a young Anglican Franciscan order in Brazil into its
membership. Remember to pray for our sisters and brothers in TSSF --
they are dear friends and supporters of the OEF across the continent.
2003 Convocation photo online
31 July 2003
Thanks to Ann Nybakke's photographic and digital skills, we have a nice
group picture, complete with names, available for download. Order
members may also request a print directly from the Nybakkes. Click the
photo above to see the larger view.
Warning: The fie is large and may take a while to
load, depending on your connection speed. Also, it will be too big for
your monitor unless your resolution is at least 1600x1200, but you can
use the scroll bars to view the whole photo. To download the large file
to your computer, right click over the small photo and select "Save
Target As" (Internet Explorer) or "Save Link Target As" (Netscape).

Paula Clouse speech available here
7 July 2003
Paul Erhart-Clouse, n/OEF, was asked to speak at a
gathering for the US National Day of Prayer on May 1, and she did so --
but she didn't say what a lot of folks expected her to say. Read her speech here
in Adobe Acrobat format, with thanks to Katie Cook,
an OEF postulant, and the Baptist
Peacemaker, a publication of the Baptist Peace Fellowship
of North America. The BPFNA site also has a section on Restorative
Justice, a topic which came up extensively at Convocation this year.

Chapter/Convocation 2003 is over!
29 June 2003
It was a great time in St. Louis. Nancy Menning and David Rensberger
made their final profession, and Alyssa Loukota and David Nybakke were
admitted to the novitiate. Daisy the Clown opened us up to laughter in
new ways. Michael Vosler begins his service as our new Director of
Formation Counseling. Masud Syedullah, TSSF, returned to challenge us
on interfaith matters.
That's only the beginning! We'll get a full report in place soon. Plus,
new photos will appear on the web site, courtesy of Br. Craig Robert.
Correction to Registration Page!
18 April 2003
Thanks to David Rensberger, OEF, for noting that the link to the map to
Pallotine on the Chapter/Convocation registration page
wasn't working. It is now. Thanks, David!
