OEF Mission Statement

John English, n/OEF, finds
his mission expressed in
Kairos Prison Ministry
"Celebrating God's presence and grace in everything, following the Poor Christ of the gospels in lives of mutual care and accountability in harmony with the faith and practice of the whole Franciscan family, we are the Order of Ecumenical Franciscans. We seek to grow in the knowledge and love of God and to serve Jesus Christ in faithfulness to the spirit and example of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi."

(adopted at the Tenth General Chapter, St. Louis, MO, June 1994)

Since most of us do not live in the same physical community with our OEF sisters and brothers, our mission finds unique expression in the various ministries with which our members are involved. Check back here from time to time to see brief accounts of the kinds of things our part of the Franciscan family is doing.

Two areas of ministry are a part of our common life, however. We have people actively working, on behalf of the Order, in the areas of Peace & Justice and Ecumenical Relations.
